Losing Jesus

I am finding myself more and more as I get into the Word of God. I say this often, “My story is written in their stories.”

My second book in my 40 day series book, “On the Way” will be released at the end of this year and beginning of next year. The second leg of this journey begins in Luke 2:41.

“Every year His parents traveled to Jerusalem for the Passover Festival. When He was 12 years old, they went up according to the custom of the festival. After those days were over, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but His parents did not know it. Assuming He was in the traveling party, they went a days journey. Then they began looking for Him among their relatives and friends. When they did not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem to search for Him. After three days, they found Him in the temple complex sitting amsong the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. And all those who heard Him were astounded at His understanding and His answers. When His parents saw Him, they were astonished, … Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth and was obedient to them. His mother kept all these things in her heart.” Luke 2:41-51 HCSB.

Guess what? I have inadvertently left my son at church. He was around 8 and I assumed he left church with his dad. When we found out that neither parent had our eight yr old, I panicked and Kevin zoomed back to church. It was the last place we had seen Landry. We found him of course, but for those moments between lost and found are excruciating. You’re sick to your stomach. You’re heart’s racing, tears are pooling and you’re ringing your clammy hands. I can’t even imagine what it would be like for Mary. She felt as if she lost the Son of God. From His point of view He was never lost. He was where He was meant to be. He was in His Father’s House. Landry never felt he was lost either. He was where he felt he should be.

You can read all about it on “Day 1 Lost and Found” in the book “On the Way.”

As I have said before this whole website is designed to help us unearth the eternity seed God planted in every human heart. X marks the spot to begin digging. Our X is what Mary and Joseph did. Throw off everything you are doing. Nothing is as important in your life as finding the Son of God. If your life has moved on without Him return to the last place you walked away from Him. Once you find Him, take Him home with you. He wants to share in your Monday – Saturday lives and not just your Sunday go to church life. He wants to be a part of your blessings and wants to fill your sorrows. We need to do what Mary did, “His mother kept all these things in her heart.” Cherish Jesus in your heart. This is the first scoop of truth we must dig into to find the eternity God planted in us.

I hope your are enjoying this treasure hunt we are on. If you do please click on the “follow along” button at the very end of this page. Fill out the email section and I will get in touch with you. Share your joys, your struggles and your prayer requests and I will share mine.

I hope to hear from you. I love my new web design, hope you do too. Thanks Bethany Duarte.

In Christ
